Sri Lankas newest golf course, Eagles Catalina has just opened at Koggala Air Force Base about 10 minutes from Dalawella.
It is a challenging 9 hole course built around the runway of the base. The Sri Lankan Air Force already had 2 courses at Anadupura and Trincomolee
with the addition of Catalina and the 3 existing courses at Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Elyia Sri Lanka can now be considered a golfing holiday destination.

Should you wish to play Eagles Catalina there are a set of gents clubs available FOC at Pearlys together with Shoes (UK10) balls, tees, gloves etc. The Pro shop also has gents and ladies clubs for hire.
18 Holes costs $40 with small additional charges for caddy and ball boys. The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar and overlooks Koggala lake.
I am advised that fishing in the lake is possible after a round.
Obviously this is a very new and immature course however it has the potential to be a fascinating challenge. If you are a visiting golfer please support this venture.
